Description: While I have traveled to Central and South America a number of
times, this was the first trip I wore my agricultural hat while travelling. To my knowledge, this was the first time FGW has been taught in Spanish! I wasn’t really sure what to expect, I assumed they would know a little more than the Africans I typically teach. Nicaragua is the second poorest nation in the Western Hemisphere behind Haiti. I was invited down to teach by Nicaragua Resource Network otherwise known as NRN. Download to read more….
Nicaragua 2017 Trip
Description: It was a hot week. I could feel beads of sweat rolling down my back and chest as I stood in front of the
church and taught. My eyes were watering from the smoke drifting in the side door where the ladies were busy preparing our lunch. In the midst of a little physical discomfort, I kept reflecting on how happy I was to be back in Nicaragua. We were in the small community of Abangaca, just outside of Leon. The attendance was a little smaller than most trainings, but never have I answered so many questions. I found it very difficult to keep on schedule because of the intense interest of the participants. Download to read more….

My trip was fulfilling
Going on a mission trip with Agri-Stewards was like fulfilling two different aspects of my life, which up until then had been kept separate. I was born on a farm and had recently become a Christian, so when I heard that there was a group of Midwestern farmers heading to East Africa to help with agriculture, I could hardly believe it! This trip combined my two passions – a heart to see the Gospel reach all people worldwide and a love to steward the land God gave us!

While on the trip, I learned more about the curriculum, Farming God’s Way, which Agri-Stewards used to teach African farmers. I was intrigued by what the program taught and awed by the testimonies, so I began to investigate it a bit further. Little did I know that God was preparing me to eventually teach the material. When I moved to Tanzania as a full-time missionary, I found that Farming God’s Way was part of the course, and they just so happened to need someone to teach it.
Agri-Stewards provides a unique niche for those who have a passion for the world – its soil and its people. With Agri-Stewards, I saw that even farmers can get their hands dirty serving Jesus in a country half-way across the world!
